Three months to get ready for public administration?  With the correct approach, it is feasible!  In order to maximise efficiency and strategically cover the material, many UPSC toppers adhere to a planned method.  This is a detailed strategy for acing the optional public administration course in ninety days.

Month 1: Build a Strong Foundation

Step 1: First, Memorise the syllabus and orient yourself with PYQ.Dont engage too much with PYQ but only a superficial approach . (Days 1–3).

find out recurrent themes and frequently asked issues. Begin by carefully reading the Public Administration syllabus and fitting  the PYQ into the themes of the syllabus . Step 2 (Days 4–15): Start with the evolution of Public administration , especially the contribution of Wilson ,Nicholas Henry and Dwight Waldo . 

Develop a deeper understanding of definitions of public administration.Identify multiple dimensions of public administration like : as a discipline or subject ,as a system ,as a governance ,as regulatory body etc .

Step 3: Next step is to focus on administrative theories -categorize them into classical ,neo-classical, behavioural , advanced behavioural and post behavioural . Scholars like Taylor ,Fayol ,Weber,Follet,etc  (Days 16–25)

Step 10:Focus on local governance and integrate current affairs in them . Development programmes and any new laws or issues (Days 71–72).

Month 3: Mock Tests and Smart Revision

Step 11:Revise paper 1 (Days 73–78).

Step 12:Give mock tests of both papers (Days 79–81).

Step 13 :Revise paper 2 (Days 82–88).

Step 14:Give Full mock tests (Days 89–90).
