Kakori Train Robbery (1925): Revolutionary Strike Against British Rule | HRA & HSRA History

An important turning point in India’s fight for independence from British colonial rule was the August 9, 1925, Kakori Train Robbery. Members of the Hindustan Republican Association (HRA), which subsequently changed its name to the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA), carried out this audacious act with the intention of stealing government funds in order to fund revolutionary endeavors. It was more than just a heist; it represented youth-led rebellion, anti-British resistance, and the spirit of revolution against imperial oppression.

About the Kakori Event

The Number 8 down-train, which was traveling from Shahjahanpur to Lucknow, was robbed of its official funds in order to use them for revolutionary actions against the British government.
