  • Independent regulators make things more fair. They help people know what is going on. They make sure that services are good. This is good for investors and citizens because it helps them feel confident in the system. • The challenges that people face are very tough. Challenges like these can be really hard to deal with. When we talk about challenges we mean the kind of problems that make life difficult, for the people who have to face them. Challenges are things that test our strength and willpower. We have to be strong to overcome these challenges. The challenges that we face every day are a part of our lives.
  • The government is not working well because of a big problems. Regulatory capture is when special groups have much control. The people in charge do not have the freedom to make their decisions, which is called limited autonomy. They also do not have the skills and resources they need known as capacity deficits. Furthermore the parliament does not keep an eye on what is going on which is referred to as weak parliamentary oversight. All of these issues, with capture and the rest make it hard for institutions to do their jobs properly and be effective.

Way Forward

  • Transparent appointments, functional independence, professional expertise, and strong accountability mechanisms are essential reforms.
  • Effective regulatory institutions act as guardians of good governance, balancing efficiency, equity, and democratic accountability.
