India took part in the 51st G7 Summit (2025), which was hosted in Kananaskis, Canada, as an Outreach Country.

Results of the 51st G7 Summit (2025)

Complies with pledges made by the Glasgow Leaders’ Declaration on Forests and Land Use in 2021 to stop and reverse deforestation and forest and land degradation worldwide by 2030.India endorsed the Charter.

  • The Five-Point Plan for Critical Minerals Security, which was created during Japan’s G7 Presidency in 2023, is expanded upon by the recently launched G7 Critical Minerals Action Plan. (India has also endorsed it). 
  • The G7 also pledged to fortify the Resilient and Inclusive Supply Chain Enhancement (RISE) Partnership, which is led by the World Bank.
  • Transnational Repression (TNR), which is condemned by the G7, is an aggressive kind of foreign involvement in which states or their proxies try to compel, harass, threaten, or injure people or communities outside of their boundaries.
  • Adhere to the G7 Action Plan to Prevent and Counter the Smuggling of Migrants and the G7 Coalition to Prevent and Counter the Smuggling of Migrants in order to prevent migrant smuggling.

The G7 GovAl Grand Challenge was initiated by Canada as the G7 chair, and it will host a number of “Rapid Solution Labs” to develop creative, scalable solutions to major obstacles to the adoption of Al in the public sector. In accordance with the United Nations Global Digital Compact, it aims to bridge digital divides.
